Gus was born at 24 weeks gestation, weighing only 1lb & 8oz. We were given a 20% chance that she would survive. Struggling through heart surgery and many other complications associated with extreme prematurity, Gus thrived under the care of those at Sacred Heart's Intensive Care Nursery. At three years of age, our darling Gus accidentally drowned in our pool. I believe with all of my heart that had it not been for Sacred Heart's Intensive Care Nursery's state-of-the-art facility and expert staff, we would not have been blessed with the three years we had with her. I think she would like the opportunity to help other tiny babies flourish as she did. That's why a portion of the profit from Gus's Gift is donated to Sacred Heart Hospital's Intensive Care Nursery and other programs dedicated to helping children survive.
